About
The Struggle Hill Project is a community history and story-telling project focused on gathering stories about the houses, the land and the people of Struggle Hill -- starting with the stretch of 26th Avenue in the Skyland neighborhood. We aim to document and preserve the rich history of our community through both digital and place-based platforms. We are partnering with the staff and volunteers of Historic Denver & Discover Denver to leverage their deep knowledge and expertise to teach neighbors how to research and document the story of their house.
26th Avenue has a story to tell.
We believe that learning and sharing the stories of people and places can build a stronger, more deeply connected community.
We also believe this endeavor is critical in this day and age when individuals are often more connected to virtual communities than to their own next door neighbors.
Our Mission
Our mission is to discover and collect as many stories as possible and preserve and document them through both digital and place-based strategies.

Our Vision
Our vision is that neighbors will feel more connected to and invested in the community by learning about and better understanding those who came before and their role in Denver's history. By honoring rather than erasing the past, we better understand the present and can be more intentional about the future we create together.
